    MeCoSim supports a number of models of P systems along with associated simulators, based mostly in the parsing and simulation engine provided by the core of P-Lingua, called **pLinguaCore** (see its `supported models <http://www.p-lingua.org/wiki/index.php/Supported_models>`_). Besides, some of the last parsers and simulators were included in pLinguaCore during the development of MeCoSim, along with some additional one included in the analogous MeCoSimCore (see *simplekernelpromela* simulator), thus preserving pLinguaCore for internal and the latter one for external ones.
